A note on GPS

 

Putting our address into your GPS may take you to downtown Oscoda, which is almost 30 min away from camp! For GPS directions use the intersection of River Rd. and Rempert Rd as your destination. If you are using a phone, the directions from both Google and Apple maps is accurate. Just to be safe, please take a look at our old-fashioned directions below.

Directions from Downstate

• Take 1-75/US-23 North

• Take exit 190 for M-61 toward Standish/Gladwin

• Turn right on M-61 E, which will become US-23

• Continue on US-23 through the town of Omer (~10 miles)

• Turn left on M-65 (at the traffic signal)

• Continue on M-65 through the towns of Twining, Whittemore, and Hale (~34 miles)

(If you cross the AuSable River, you’ve gone too far)

• Turn right on River Rd.

• Continue on River Rd., passing Lumberman’s Monument (~7 miles)

• Turn left at the camp sign onto the dirt road

• After just 100 yds, turn right

• Continue on the camp road 1 ¼ miles to reach the camp gate

 

Our Road

The camp road is a sandy, winding, and one lane road owned by the US Forest Service.

Be cautious and courteous as you drive. Wide spots on the road to allow cars to pass, so keep an eye open as you make your way.
