Introduction to Parent/Child Weekends

Parent/ Child weekends are a great time to connect with each other!

Our weekend programs are designed for relaxation, adventure, fun and worship. The emphasis is on encouraging parents and their children to interact, explore, share and learn together. Relationships are nurtured in a quiet forest setting away from all the distractions of the normal day to day routine.

There are several weekends from which to choose. Each thematically programmed weekend includes a campfire, Bible study, worship, games, crafts and other creative "crazy" activities to promote family bonds. Come and make a lifetime of memories!

Cost: Parent - $90; Child - $70 up to a family maximum of $210.

Father/Daughter

For girls ages 6 and 13                                             June 4-6

Dad, what could be better than spending quality time with your daughter(s) in a beautiful setting? Girls, want dad all to yourself? This is the weekend you both have been looking for! Weekends are available in both spring and fall:

  • What we have planned:

    • HFCC's annual "father-daughter" kickball game

    • Hike to the river

    • Picnic lunch.

All are housed in platform tents or cabins. Daughters stay with women counselors.

 

Father/Teen Daughter Canoe Weekend

For girls 14-17                                                    September 17-19

Paddle the beautiful AuSable river in it’s autumn glory. Play crazy games and work together on a special memory craft. Dad this is a wonderful time to spend connecting with your teen daughter.


Father/Son

For boys ages 6 and up.                                   October 8-10

Hang with the guys! No girls allowed! This weekend gets fathers and sons working together to complete a variety of challenges. Like our initaves course, a craft project and other relationship building adventures.

 

Mother/Daughter

For girls ages 6-14.                                       September 10-12

Mom, relax and spend a great weekend getting to know your daughter(s) away from the hustle and bustle of family life. We do the cooking, you just relax, have fun, and enjoy crisp fall days, crafts and crazy games. Mothers are housed together with daughters.

 

General Information and Note To Pastors

Arrivals and Departures for all Parent/Child Weekends

  • Plan to arrive Friday between 8 pm and 10 pm.  (Please, no arrivals before 8 pm.)

  • The weekends conclude after Sunday brunch and a worship service. Departure is around 12:00 noon.

  • Upon receipt of your registration, we will send detailed directions to camp and a packing list or you can download the forms right from this web site Forms.

A SPECIAL NOTE TO PASTORS

  • As a way of supporting you and your ministry, Camp CedarRidge is offering you and your children FREE weekends at any of our Parent-Child weekends!

  • Include a note on your church letterhead with the completed registration form.  Send no registration fee.  We'll be planning on you!
